Terms of use
In short
- PassBell is not a safety, alarm or emergency system. A call can fail (Wi-Fi, battery, phone settings). The station always shows when a call was not delivered. Keep your own safety procedures.
- There is a free plan with no time limit. Paid plans are bought on Google Play, renew automatically and can be cancelled at any time in Google Play.
- As an employer, you tell your staff that you use PassBell and what you can see.
- If you are a consumer, you keep every right the law gives you; nothing here limits them.
1. Who we are and when these terms apply
These terms are the contract between you and us: TODO_COMPANY, TODO_ADDRESS. Email: support@passbell.app. They apply when you install or use PassBell. "Business" means anyone using the app for their work or business; "consumer" means a person buying it for a private purpose (for example a wedding).
2. The service
PassBell calls staff over the local network: the station calls a person, a group or everyone, the phone rings and vibrates, the watch shows the notification. It includes optional voice messages, push-to-talk, team messages and a backup in your own Google Drive.
3. Not for emergencies
Do not use PassBell as the only means for fire, medical incidents, personal safety or any other emergency. Delivery depends on Wi-Fi, power, the devices and their settings, which we do not control. We do not guarantee that every call will be delivered. The station shows when a call was not delivered and why; check that indication.
4. Who may use it
You must be at least 16, or the age at which the law of your country lets you work. Whoever sets up a station for a venue confirms they may bind that business.
5. Free plan, trial and paid plans
The free plan (1 station, 2 people) never expires and is as reliable as the paid plans. The 14-day free trial of the top plan costs nothing and returns to the free plan at the end, with no automatic charge.
Paid plans (monthly or yearly subscription, or a 72-hour Event pass) are sold only through Google Play. The price, period and what is included are shown before you tap buy. Google handles the payment under its own terms.
6. Renewal and cancellation
A subscription renews automatically at the end of each period until you cancel it in Google Play (Payments and subscriptions, Subscriptions). Cancelling stops the next charge; the plan continues until the end of the period you paid for, then the station moves to the free plan without losing its setup. If the price changes, Google tells you before the next charge.
7. Right of withdrawal (consumers in the EU)
As a consumer you generally have 14 days to withdraw from a purchase without giving a reason. Because the plan starts immediately, before you buy we ask you to expressly agree that it starts now and to acknowledge that you thereby lose your right of withdrawal; a confirmation of the purchase is sent to you. If you do not give this consent, the 14-day right remains.
To withdraw or ask for a refund, use Google Play's refund process or write to support@passbell.app. We do not refuse a refund for a renewal you did not use if you write within 14 days of the charge.
8. Licence
We give you a non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use PassBell for your venue or event while these terms apply. The software, name and brand remain ours.
The app checks with the licence server whether it is a genuine Google Play install and which plan you have. Without a connection the station keeps its last licence for 14 days, then runs as Free. A call is never blocked because of the licence.
9. Acceptable use
- Tell your staff that you use PassBell, what you can see (calls, answers, messages, statistics if you turn them on) and that voice is not recorded. As the employer you are the controller of your staff's data.
- Do not use PassBell for covert or constant monitoring of employees, to score people without telling them, or for anything unlawful.
- Do not send messages that harass, threaten, or contain health details; messages are for the shift.
- Do not bypass the licence check, and do not copy or resell the app, except as the law expressly allows.
- Use the staff Wi-Fi, not the guest network.
10. Updates and conformity
The app is updated through Google Play for fixes and security. If you are a consumer, you have the legal remedies when the digital content or service does not conform to the contract (bringing it into conformity, a price reduction or ending the contract). Features change only for a valid reason (security, law, technical progress), at no cost to you; if a change harms you more than minimally, you can end the contract.
11. Liability
We do not limit our liability for intent, gross negligence, death or personal injury, or where the law does not allow it. If you are a consumer, we are liable as the law provides.
If you use PassBell as a business, to the extent the law allows: we are not liable for indirect loss, lost profit, lost sales or loss from a call not delivered because of the network, devices or settings, and our total liability is limited to what you paid in the last 12 months (on the free plan, EUR 50).
12. Ending
You can stop at any time by cancelling in Google Play and uninstalling the app. We may suspend the licence if the licence check is bypassed or acceptable use is seriously breached, after notice where possible.
13. Changes to these terms
If we change these terms, you will see it in the app and here at least 30 days before they apply. If you disagree, you can cancel the subscription before the new terms apply.
14. Law and disputes
Greek law applies. If you are a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory rules of the country where you live and can go to the courts where you live. For businesses, the courts of Athens have jurisdiction.
Write to us first at support@passbell.app; we answer within 30 days. Consumers can also use an alternative dispute resolution body, such as the Greek Consumer Ombudsman (www.synigoroskatanaloti.gr) or the body of their country. The EU ODR platform closed on 20 July 2025.
15. Contact
There is no phone support. For anything: support@passbell.app.
